ESG measurement is a snapshot in time of a company’s operations, focusing on discrete quantitative data points and modeling them where not available. While most ESG data providers employ subjective analysis and integrate qualitative factors into their scoring model, YB scores do not. Rather than award points to a company because it has good policy statements and rhetoric, YB scores are only based on actual emissions or use available data points to model it.
When we show an ESG score or UN SDG alignment, we display the quantitative metrics used so that you can verify and easily understand why one company is better than another and why it received that mark. In short, ‘proof over policy’.
